G.I. Joe Adventure Team Talking Commander with Original Box (Hasbro, 1970). Introduced in 1970 as the new leader of the Adventure Team, the Talking Commander brought a bold new personality to the G.I. Joe lineup-complete with a pull-string voice feature and signature phrases like "I've got a tough assignment for you!" Combining the lifelike flocked hair and beard with Hasbro's then-groundbreaking "talking" mechanism, the figure helped relaunch G.I. Joe for a new decade of exploration, espionage, and action.

This example remains boxed with the original figure and uniform intact. The figure displays only minor wear from age and storage, with two small red dots visible on the lower pant legs. The pull cord still moves freely, though the voice feature is no longer functional. Despite that, the overall appearance of the figure remains strong, with crisp flocking and well-preserved clothing. The original box, however, shows heavy signs of wear accumulated over more than 50 years. There is severe edge and corner wear throughout, with heavy surface scuffing and scratching across all panels. A tear is present on the upper left edge of the box top, where an old repair has been attempted with Scotch tape. While the packaging shows its age, the presence of the original figure with clothing, a working pull mechanism, and displayable components makes this a compelling find. A nostalgic and historically significant piece from the early Adventure Team era, this Talking Commander remains a key figure in the evolution of the 12-inch G.I. Joe legacy.
