Description

G.I. Joe Action Pilot Equipment Scramble AFA 80 ** Only Graded Example ** (Hasbro, 1964). Released in 1964 as part of the original Action Pilot Equipment series, the Scramble set reflected the strong emphasis on aviation-themed military realism and rapid-response mission concepts that helped define the earliest years of the G.I. Joe brand. Equipment sets such as this expanded the role-specific and environmental possibilities of the inaugural 12-inch line during its formative period. This example has been professionally graded AFA 80 NM with subgrades of C80 B80 F90. According to the AFA population report, this remains the only graded example recorded. Early Action Pilot equipment sets helped establish the broad mission versatility of the original G.I. Joe concept, pairing specialized military gear and support assignments with the increasingly detailed realism that characterized the 1960s line.
