Description

DC Batman Bicycle Ornament, Bat Grenade, & Power Shield (various, 1966-76). This trio of vintage Batman-themed outdoor toys captures the wild spirit of 1960s playground action. First up is the 1966 Bat Grenade by Esquire Novelty, a spring-loaded cap bomb disguised as a black-winged bat - it "fires on contact" and comes mounted to a bright yellow card with comic book artwork and POW! callouts. Next is the Batman Bicycle Ornament from the same year, a silver and blue figure with a red spring-mount base designed to wobble with motion as kids rode through Gotham's suburban streets. Rounding out the lot is the Batman Power Shield, a rare 1976 licensed release from The Funstuf Group that launched foam discs from a bright yellow and blue plastic shield emblazoned with Batman's likeness.

The Bat Grenade's card shows moderate wear including creasing and bending along the edges and corners and waviness throughout, though the toy itself remains affixed with visible age. The Bicycle Ornament card exhibits moderate warping and severe surface wear, with scuffing and mild veining. The Power Shield remains sealed and unused, with a header card that shows mild waviness, creasing, tearing, and soiling, especially at the top of the card. See images for further condition details. Items are sold as is. These were not just toys - they were battle gear for backyard crusaders. Whether you launched foam discs at imaginary Jokers or rode your Apple Krate bike with Batman bouncing on the handlebars, this lot delivers a double dose of nostalgia and superhero swagger. Rarely found intact on cards, these licensed oddities represent a pre-action figure era when Batman merchandise took wild and wonderful forms. Display them, collect them, or reenact your own driveway showdown.
