DC Batman & Robin Hand Puppets with Box plus Robin Marionette (Ideal/Hazelle, 1966). This early lot of DC Comics puppet merchandise includes a trio of vintage Batman and Robin items from the 1960s, spanning soft vinyl hand puppets and a full cloth-and-string marionette. The two Ideal hand puppets, both marked 1966, feature vinyl heads with printed cloth bodies - Batman in light blue and Robin in yellow. Also included is a Hazelle Airplane Control Marionette of Robin, complete with felt mask, life-like hair, and wooden control crossbar, dating to 1966 as well.

The cloth bodies of both hand puppets show visible staining and fading throughout, and Batman's head has minor paint wear, while Robin's head exhibits heavy paint wear and surface scuffing. The original Ideal Superman-Batman box is present but in severely damaged condition, with crushing, creasing, edge and corner wear, and loss of the clear cellophane window on the front. The top window remains partially attached but is lifting and fragile. Pencil scribbles are visible on the box surface and interior. The Hazelle marionette appears complete, though. With licensed superhero products still in their infancy, these puppets helped carry Batman and Robin into a new era of television-fueled popularity. Representing two of the earliest toy formats for the Dynamic Duo, this lot offers a rare glimpse at how Gotham's greatest began their leap from comics to living rooms.
