Description

DC Aurora Batmobile Slot Car & Tri-ang Battery Operated Batmobile (various, 1966). From the golden age of caped crusader collectibles comes this dynamic duo of vintage 1966 Batmobiles, each paying tribute to the unmistakable ride made famous by Adam West's Batman. First up is the Tri-ang Spot-On Magicar Batmobile, a battery-powered vehicle produced in Northern Ireland by Tri-ang's Spot-On division. This plastic model was part of the Magicar Motoring system-an inventive, quick-change line that allowed both slot-car and free-play functionality. Sporting a black finish with vivid red trim, bubble canopies, and seated Batman and Robin figures, it features the "Magic Touch" motorized start/stop system and a removable chassis guide peg. The piece includes its original display packaging, which has been previously opened. Packaging shows edge and corner wear, softening and creasing on the top flap, dents to the window cellophane, and surface scuffing throughout. The interior cardboard insert, original instructions are present, slot car adapter "T"s are included as well. The car itself is in played with condition, with heavy surface scuffing, especially on the clear windows. There is also a small piece of plastic broken off the motor housing. This piece is included in the body of the car for anyone wanting to repair it.
Also included is the Aurora Batmobile HO Scale Slot Car (Item #1385)-a beloved Model Motoring release compatible with HO scale slot car tracks. Based on the 1966 TV series design, this miniature version captures the sleek black silhouette, red trim, and iconic bat insignia. It remains housed in its original clear display case with yellow end caps and instruction insert. The case shows moderate wear with surface scuffing, tape residue on the base, a price sticker from "Almart" affixed to one end, and the Batmobile itself appears used but in decent shape for its age. Two iconic iterations of the Batmobile-one for the slot car racing crowd, the other for battery-powered mayhem-offered together in tribute to Gotham's most stylish set of wheels. Holy vintage collectibles, Batman!
