Description

Batman Print Lot (DC Comics, 1978-92). A striking salute to the Dark Knight's visual legacy, this Batman lot brings together four limited edition prints that span decades of comic book artistry, released by DC Comics in 1978 and 1992. Leading the lineup is Jerry Robinson's dramatic "Variations on a Theme: Number 39," numbered 1087 out of 1500, depicting a tense underwater rescue as Batman races to save Robin from a submerged tank while the Joker looms above, grinning with sinister delight as he clutches the ropes of Robin's fate. The print remains sealed in cellophane and comes housed in a slightly discolored white frame, preserving its bold narrative and iconic design. Next is a dynamic piece by Pat Broderick, numbered 518 of 5000, capturing Batman in a bold, muscle-defined stance against a blue circular backdrop, a quintessential portrayal of the hero's 1990s form. This print includes a mat overlay that shows surface wear in the upper right corner. The collection concludes with two companion prints from Batman Returns by Bob Kane, both numbered 2462 of 2500 and published by First Team Press Inc. The first, titled "A Dangerous Game of Cat and Bat," pits Batman against Catwoman in a high-stakes rooftop face-off. The second, "The Penguin's Revenge," features a shadowy confrontation between the Caped Crusader and Gotham's devious bird-themed villain. Each print reveals signs of age and handling, with softened corners, edge wear, surface scuffs, and creasing. Together, they offer a vivid, cinematic window into Batman's ever-evolving battles and the enduring artistry behind the legend.
