Heritage Acquires Odyssey Auctions

Dallas, Texas: Heritage Galleries & Auctioneers www.HeritageGalleries.com has purchased the assets of Odyssey Auctions. Those assets include the auction rights to the popular Dallas Guitar Show. All of the current consignments will be offered at the regularly scheduled April 17-18, 2004 auction being held at the 27th Annual Dallas Guitar Show & MusicFest at Market Hall in Dallas. Future auctions will be held under the name Heritage-Odyssey. Continuing its auction expansion into additional collectible specialties, Heritage Galleries & Auctioneers is the world's largest auctioneer of collectibles, and is privately owned. Odyssey Auctions and the Dallas Guitar Show auction rights were purchased by Heritage from Collectors Universe, Inc. (trading on NASDAQ - CLCT). Collectors Universe has recently divested of its auction holdings, selling its sports and numismatic auction companies to Greg Manning Auctions (NASDAQ - GMAI).

Heritage Galleries & Auctioneers is the world's largest dealer and auctioneer of collectibles, with 2003 sales of almost $250 million ($123 million at auction). Heritage's popular web sites list over 600,000 previously sold auction lots, fully searchable with descriptions and enlargeable color images. Over 125,000 bidder-members, representing some of the most serious collectors in the world, have registered to bid in Heritage's online auctions. The HG&A family, headquartered in Dallas, specializes in: U.S. rare coins through Heritage Numismatic Auctions; world and ancient coins through Heritage World Coin Auctions; currency through Heritage-Currency Auctions of America; comics and comic art, illustration and comics art, vintage toys, movie posters, records, and Hollywood/music memorabilia through Heritage Comics Auctions and Heritage-Odyssey; and sports and collector cards and sports memorabilia through Heritage Sports Collectibles. Heritage also offers political memorabilia, silverware, antiques, American paintings and sculpture, and decorative and fine arts. Additional information can be found at their website www.HeritageGalleries.com. HG&A sells collectibles across a number of markets and serves one of the largest client lists of active collectibles buyers in the world, using advanced technology to maximize its marketing outreach.

Michael Haynes, the Chief Executive Officer of Collectors Universe, Inc., stated, "The Dallas Guitar Sale will be hugely successful under the ownership and management of Heritage. Not only does Heritage produce some of the finest catalogs in the world of collectibles, but they have an excellent interactive website, their marketing of the product for sale is excellent and the sale is located in their home town."

This April's Heritage-Odyssey "Icons of 20th Century Music Sale" contains nearly 500 lots (insured for three million dollars) and will be hosted at www.autographs.com.
