Description

Rodriguez Coming From Reality Rare Sealed Stereo Vinyl LP (Sussex, SXBS 7012). A sealed copy of the original pressing of Sixto Diaz Rodriguez's second LP, released on Sussex Records in early 1971. Has the Ivy Duo-Pak fold-out jacket.

Along with Rodriguez's debut, these records quickly came and went from record stores. The Detroit-based singer/songwriter blended beautiful folk with strings, often singing about harsh truths about life and the downtrodden. But it was not until many years later that his records found their way to the ears of listeners in Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. Thanks to the popularity of those records, the reclusive performer came out of retirement and toured in those territories.

Thanks to the acclaimed Searching For Sugar Man documentary in 2012, Rodriguez experienced a global appreciation. His albums have been extensively reissued, but it's hard to find an original pressing from 1971, let alone in its factory-sealed shrink.

The sleeve is in NM 8 condition. COA from Heritage Auctions. From Jim Copeland’s Crush On Vinyl Ultimate Audiophile Archive.
