Description
"A Forest God, eh? I'm gonna get me Big Baby!"
Hellboy II: The Golden Army (Universal, 2008), Ron
Perlman "Hellboy" Screen Used Hero "Big Baby" Shotgun with (6)
Shells. Impressive prop oversize six-round shotgun crafted of
metal and resin with lever action (which advances the cylinder),
fitted with leather shoulder strap. Both sides of the metal shroud
where the front sight is mounted feature engraved lettering "BPRD
333" [Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense]. Accompanied with
(6) large prop shotgun shells, each with a baby bottle painted on
the side of the casing with the words, "SUCK ON THIS" engraved
around the primer cap. "Big Baby" with a cartoon of a
cigar-chomping baby caricature is painted on each side of the resin
shoulder stock. Gun measures 26" x 19"; each shell measures 3.75" x
1.2" diameter. When Prince Nuada (Luke Goss) unleashes the Forest
God (aka the Last Elemental) on the city, Hellboy (Ron Perlman)
runs to his arms trailer and fetches "Big Baby", this high-caliber
shotgun, to dispatch it in just three shots. Accompanied by (2)
8.5" x 11" digital prints of the production rendering of the famous
Big Baby prop, one of which Guillermo del Toro has signed and
hand-drawn a self-caricature with a cartoon of a word balloon
stating, "Feed da' Babe!" The double-action trigger both cocks and
releases the hammer, and the lever rotates the cylinder that holds
the ammunition. The hinging break action release is present but not
functioning. Exhibits intentional studio distress in addition to
production wear including scuffing to the paint finish. A
fantastic, iconic weapon from del Toro's Hellboy franchise.
Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions."I wanted a weapon that evoked WWII aesthetics - a hand cannon with a Tex Avery/Walter Lantz style cartoon on the side. Something that could have a nickname - a slang one - that Hellboy could just conjure with that Ron Perlman swagger "I'm gonna need the Big Baby!!" I believe that, short of the original hero Samaritan, this is the Holy Grail of Hellboy weaponry." From the personal collection of Guillermo del Toro.
