Blade II (New Line, 2002), Mike Mignola - Death of Chupa Original Storyboard Art. Storyboard sequence depicting Chupa's (Matthew Schulze) brutal death as Reapers burst from the shadows, tearing him apart in a violent frenzy. An early collaboration between Mike Mignola and Guillermo del Toro, setting the stage for their celebrated Hellboy film a few years later. These collaborations became legendary for both, and any such original document is extremely rare. Rendered in the legendary comic artist's signature style, this piece closely mirrors the film scene where Chupa is overwhelmed by the Reaper pack, highlighting how faithfully the grotesque episode was translated to the screen. Mignola's storyboards can be seen on page 112 of Guillermo del Toro: Cabinet of Curiosities - My Notebooks, Collections and Other Obsessions. Created in ink and colored pencil with an image area of 16.75" x 10.5"; framed to 24" x 18". Exhibits minor handling. Unexamined out of frame. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
