Batman Returns (Warner Bros., 1992), "Closed Set" Prop Stage Door Used for Premiere Magazine Michael Keaton Cover. Original wooden prop stage door painted gray and spray-painted with the Batman logo and stenciled text "CLOSED SET", as used for the cover photo of the July 1992 issue of Premiere Magazine with Michael Keaton and a feature on the new Tim Burton-directed take on the superhero favorite. Measures 35.5" x 30.75" x 1.5". On the cover, Keaton (who plays the titular Caped Crusader), is seen opening a set stage door with one hand and pointing towards the Warner Bros. backlot with the other. The prop sign was created for the cover photo and used in the photoshoot to recreate part of the stage and set the movie was filmed on. Exhibits signs of production-use, wear, and age, including surface loss to wood at the lower left corner, edgewear, scuffs, scratches, and smudges throughout. Retaining tape on the front reading "July 1992 Cover / Premiere Mag Michael Keaton / Bat-Man Closed Set Door Prop / Used". The prop door was trimmed to its current size for storage following the photoshoot. Accompanied by a cover of the magazine issue featuring this prop sign in use.
