Description

Star Wars Uzay C-3PO CAS 70 Loose (Uzay, 1988). Produced in Turkey by Uzay in 1988, this bootleg C-3PO stands as one of the most recognizable figures from the infamous Uzay line, known for its eccentric reinterpretations of Kenner's original designs. The figure retains the classic humanoid form of the protocol droid but is recast in a distinctly Turkish metallic finish that varies between dull gold and bronze depending on production batch. Unlike Kenner's vacuum-metalized version, the Uzay C-3PO was molded entirely in colored plastic and then hand-painted, giving each example unique variations in tone and texture. This example has been graded CAS 70, with a true numerical score of 72.2. Despite minor surface wear typical of Uzay's softer plastics and inconsistent factory application, the figure remains structurally solid and visually striking, with all limb joints intact and finish evenly preserved. The differences in detail-most notably in the eyes, abdominal wiring, and chest contours-reflect the more rudimentary molding techniques of Turkish production, making each example distinct from its Western counterpart. Encapsulated in a clear archival display, this figure represents one of the boldest chapters in Star Wars toy history, when international markets reinterpreted a global phenomenon through their own lens of limited resources and creative adaptation. To collectors of bootlegs and global variants, Uzay C-3PO is more than a copy-it's a cultural translation of the galaxy's most talkative droid, forged far from the twin suns of Tatooine yet every bit as full of personality.
