Description

Batman (TCF TV, 1966-1968), Walter Slezak "Clock King" and Henchmen Clock Patches. Vintage original group of (5) circular felt patches portraying clock faces, used to the adorn the costume ensembles worn by Clock King (Walter Slezak) and his henchmen in their appearances on the original Batman television series, consisting of (4) 6.75" white felt Henchmen's patches with printed black clock dial designs depicting different hours of the day, and (1) 5.5" white felt Clock King's patch with similarly printed black dial, with gold-colored border and gold-colored crown emblem above the 6 o'clock index. In keeping with the clever humor distinct to the series, Clock King was known to use clocks and time-related gimmicks to devastating effect. Notably, he is the brother of another clever foe in Gotham, the Mad Hatter (David Wayne). Clock King makes his appearance in Season 2, Episodes 11 and 12, "The Clock King's Crazy Crimes" and "The Clock King Gets Crowned". Patches have been affixed to a gold and black velveteen background with tape on a 33" x 30" foam board. Center of the background display includes a felt cut-out in the shape of a "Pow!" speech-bubble with a color photograph of Clock King fighting Batman (Adam West) during their on-screen battle. Patches exhibiting some signs of age and wear including pinholes and faint staining to 1- patch, as expected with production-used wardrobe, with some signs of wear to homemade display board. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions. From The Stewart Berkowitz Television Treasures Collection.
