Description
Batman (TCF TV, 1966-1968), Art Carney "Archer" Protective Visor. Vintage original prop protective visor made from vacuum-formed red semi-translucent plastic, painted grayish-white with a carved-out horizontal rectangular vision strip and an elastic headband strap notched to each side, as seen in "Shoot a Crooked Arrow", the first episode of the second season of the beloved superhero series, Batman. In the episode, Archer (Art Carney) portrays a wannabe Robin Hood-esque villain who speaks in a faux-Shakespearean tongue, despite being working class, and targets Wayne Manor with his band of "Merry Malefactors" so they can steal money from the mansion's safe to distribute to the poor - despite having cut a deal with the wealthy Allan A. Dale (Robert Cornthwaite) in order to gain access to the mansion. The visor was used to protect its wearer from noxious gas emitted from Archer's arrows. Measures approx. 5" x 3" and exhibits production wear and age including paint splatter to the inside of the visor from fabrication and scuffs to the exterior from production-use. Visor is displayed in a custom-made 9.75" x 3.75" x 4.25" display glass and accompanied by a 4"x 6" color photograph of Archer wearing the visor.
