Description

Last of The Oxbloods

1963 Fender Bandmaster Blonde Guitar Amplifier, Serial #58878.
This 1963 Fender Bandmaster amplifier comes in a rare blonde tolex finish with an Oxblood grill cloth-an unusual pairing for this year, adding to its uniqueness. It features all original caps, transformers, two-prong power cord, and tubes, making it a true vintage piece with exceptional integrity. The tube chart bears an MH date stamp, confirming a production date of August 1963. Though in fully working condition, it is recommended that the amp be serviced by a qualified technician to ensure long-term reliability. Wheels have been added to the cabinet for ease of transport. The speaker date code (328448) dates them to the 48th week of 1964. The original speakers have been replaced with Utah/Oxford models that lack a logo; they were reportedly supplied and installed from Fender as replacements - ordered by the original owner shortly after he purchased the amp at ABC Music. This amp was featured in Vintage Guitar Magazine September 2023. Possibly the last Oxblood Bandmaster from August 1963. Our consignor purchased this amp in the early 1970's from the original owner, making it a two-owner amp!
No case included. Condition: Excellent.
This amp was used in several Sorcery recordings/albums. - Per Richie King.
