1952 Fender Pro Amp Tweed Guitar Amplifier, Serial #1751.. ...
Description
1952 Fender Pro Amp Tweed Guitar Amplifier, Serial #1751.This is a 1952 Fender Pro Amp with the classic wide panel design and original tweed cabinet. The amplifier is fitted with a Jensen P-15N speaker, date-coded to late 1951. Transformers appear to be original, while a few capacitors have been replaced. The power cord has also been replaced, though it is not grounded. The tweed covering has been painted over at some point, and the paint is now flaking across much of the surface. The original tweed underneath is torn and frayed, contributing to a well-worn vintage aesthetic. The amp is functional; however, the standby switch does not operate as intended and only reduces output instead of muting the signal.
No case included. Condition: Fair.
The Fender Pro Amp from this era is revered for its warm, responsive tone and is a favorite among blues and roots players. Introduced in the late 1940s, the Pro was one of Fender's early professional-grade amplifiers, featuring a 15" speaker that delivers a rich, full sound with excellent low-end response. The wide panel tweed design, used only briefly from 1951-1953, is especially sought after by collectors. Despite cosmetic wear and some minor functional quirks, this amp remains a playable and historically significant piece of gear. Its naturally aged tweed covering and patina reflect decades of use, making it an evocative addition to any vintage amplifier collection or studio setup.
