Brian Jones (2) Owned Striped and Paisley Cravats (Late 1960s). (2) Vintage cravats owned by the late Brian Jones, fashion accessories for which Brian became instantly recognizable as part of his increasingly flamboyant wardrobe in the late 1960s. Including (1) cravat constructed from cotton with magenta and tan striped pattern; and (1) cravat constructed from white silk with blue/red paisley design. Accompanied by a letter signed by Anna Wohlin concerning the provenance of both garments. According to Wohlin, these two scarves were favorites of Brian's, with the founding Stones member rarely seen without one during the latter half of the 1960s. Provenance: The collection of Anna Wohlin, Brian Jones' girlfriend who lived with him at Cotchford Farm in 1969; Bonhams London, June 28, 2017, Lot 112; Acquired from this auction by the present owner. Exhibits very light wear consistent with age and use, including handling creases and some light fading to the cotton fabric. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
