THE ROLLING STONES PERFORM JUST WEEKS BEFORE THE RELEASE OF THEIR DEBUT ALBUM IN THE UK

The Rolling Stones Olympia Ballroom, Reading UK Concert Poster (1964). Vintage original concert poster promoting the Rolling Stones' headlining appearance at the Olympia Ballroom in Reading, UK, on March 30, 1964. Measuring 29.75" x 20", also listed on this monochrome poster as performing earlier in the month is Jerry Lee Lewis on March 22. The next month would see the release of the Rolling Stones' debut album in the UK on April 17. The "Ricky Tick R&B Club" is prominent to the top margin, with one of the recognizable Ricky Tick faces emblazoned to the front. Tragically the Olympia was demolished and replaced by apartments in 2022, but the Rolling Stones remain a standout in the musical history of the town of Reading. The concert poster is folded, exhibits light handling creases, light toning and stains more noticeably to the poster edges. Some small areas of light ink smudging and blemishes, small surface abrasions including to the 'O' in 'Rolling'. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
