Howard the Duck (Universal, 1986), Poster Concept Art. Original concept art accomplished with acrylic and colored pencil on 20" x 30" artist's board depicting the titular cigar-smoking duck drifting through space in his easy chair with Earth and the moon beneath him in the distance. One might infer from the streaks of air and plume of cigar smoke streaming off the back of Howard's chair that the rambunctious duck was flying through space at warp speed, yet his posture in the chair - legs crossed, dangling cigar - indicates a calm, unbothered demeanor. Thus making this a perfect, although ultimately unused, concept design for the film's theatrical poster. Exhibits signs of wear and age, including edgewear along the bottom edge and corners with several bumped corners as well and marks on the top left border quadrant. Acrylic remains vivid with some areas of unevenness. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
