Edgar Rice Burroughs: The Man Who Created Tarzan by Irwin Porges (Bringham Young University Press, 1975), First Edition with Multiple Signatures. Vintage original First Edition, First Printing of Edgar Rice Burroughs: The Man Who Created Tarzan by Irwin Porges, with 819-pages (as paginated). Measures 9" x 11.5". This is a large format biography of the American adventure, science fiction, and fantasy writer who created the character Tarzan and popularized his image through a series of twenty-four books beginning in 1912. The front endpaper is inscribed in black and blue inks by various actors related to film adaptations of the Lord of the Jungle, including Johnny Weismuller (who portrayed Tarzan in twelve feature films from 1932 to 1948), James H. Pierce (1927's Tarzan and the Golden Lion), Denny Miller (who portrayed Tarzan in 1959's Tarzan, the Ape Man), Jock Mahoney (from 1962's Tarzan Goes to India and 1963's Tarzan's Three Challenges), and Eve Brent (who played Jane in 1958's Tarzan's Fight For Life). Also included is a vintage original copy of The Burroughs Bulletin, No. 52, an independent zine publication from August 1975 that is dedicated to Burroughs and all things Tarzan. Includes several additional signatures and inscriptions throughout from actors related to film adaptations of Tarzan including Louise Lorraine, Karla Schramm, Johnny Wesimuller, Denny Miller, Jock Mahoney, and James H. Pierce. Zine measures 8.5" x 10.75" and is staple-bound. The hardcover book includes a dust jacket exhibiting mild edgewear to the spine and extremities, otherwise well-preserved. Zine exhibits mild age and handling. Authenticated Signatures: Johnny Weissmuller, Karla Schramm, Denny Miller, Jock Mahoney, James H.
