Cinefantastique Magazine (Volume 23, Number 5), David Voigt Original Babylon 5
Description
Cinefantastique Magazine (Volume 23, Number 5), David Voigt Original Babylon 5 Cover Artwork from Fred Clarke's Personal Collection. Original cover artwork by David Voigt for the February 1993 issue of Cinefantastique Magazine, depicting G-Kar (Andreas Katsulas) with several Vorlon ships and planetary shapes in the foreground over a background of the night sky. Accomplished with fine detail in acrylic on 16" x 19.5" artist's board. Cinefantastique was a long-running and influential film magazine covering science fiction, horror, and fantasy that ran from 1967 to 2006 and was edited by Fred Clarke. Under Clarke's direction, the magazine published in-depth retrospectives on influential early films and behind-the-scenes accounts of current productions. He was also an avid collector of the films and television series his magazine covered, particularly of the original cover artwork designed for each publication. This David Voigt artwork was originally obtained from Clarke's personal collection when it was sold by Profiles in History following his passing in 2006. Exhibits minor signs of age and wear, including mild bumped corners to board and some blemish marks to lower left corner, with painted area remaining virtually untouched. Signed by Voigt on the central image. The magazine image is for reference only and is not included with this lot.
