Rear Window (Paramount, 1954), James Stewart "L.B. Jeffries" Signed Film Contract. Vintage original 26-page contract typewritten on 8.5" x 13" carbon paper, dated May 27, 1953 and addressed to "Mr. James Stewart" outlining the agreement for Stewart to portray "the principal male role" in Rear Window, signed "James Stewart" in blue ink above a signature line exhibiting a misspelling of his name, "Janes Stewart". In connection to Stewart's growing influence in the production of his own films, the contract mentions that he "shall have the right to approve" the director of the "photoplay" and subsequently states that Stewart has already approved Alfred Hitchcock as the director. One of the most influential films in cinema history, Rear Window further solidified Stewart's status as one of the most popular movie stars of the 1950s, with his performance as L.B. Jeffries a landmark success in his incredibly influential career. A truly exciting piece imbued with classic cinema history.
