ONE-OF-A-KIND FRAMED ARTWORK FOR A CLASSIC POSTER

BG-219 The Doors 1970 Winterland S.F. Unique Original Poster Artwork by Randy Tuten. Heritage proudly presents for auction the original hand-drawn and pasted-up artwork, done in Randy Tuten's hand, for a famous Doors concert poster using one of the band's most iconic images. All of the fancy lettering you see was done directly on this artboard. This piece comes handsomely triple-matted and framed in glass, ready to hang on a wall. Notice how down in the right corner the artist has signed, "Design R. Tuten."

Struck from this artwork was a San Francisco concert poster for The Doors, Cold Blood with Lydia Pense, country-rock fiddler Doug Kershaw and Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen playing at the Winterland ballroom on Thursday and Friday nights, February 5 & 6, 1970. This beauty was completely designed by Tuten and known as BG-219 in the Bill Graham numbered series.

This first-ever Heritage offering measures 13 ½" x 20 ¼" (the visible art image) / 21 ½" x 29" (the overall frame) and grades to Near Mint condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: There's a brown surface blemish on Jim Morrison's thumb, and also a very slight blemish between the two top thin lines to the upper right of "Francisco."
