BG-62 Grateful Dead 1967 Fillmore Auditorium Concert Poster Signed by Wes Wilson, Graded 9.8. First-printing San Francisco concert poster for the Grateful Dead, the Paupers and Collage playing at the Fillmore Auditorium on Friday and Saturday nights, May 5 & 6, 1967. Designed by Wes Wilson, this poster was signed by him in the lower right margin. Known as BG-62 in the Bill Graham numbered poster series, this was graded a sweet 9.8 Near Mint/Mint by CGC (the Certified Guaranty Company). Wes used that big dollar sign in his design as a protest to Graham over money issues; on the very next poster, he had been replaced by Bonnie MacLean. Measures 14" x 24". More Information: The Dead were surely energized by their self-titled debut Warner Bros. album having come out just six weeks prior.

The second-billed Paupers were a psychedelic rock band from Toronto in the mid-60's, who recorded for Verve Forecast Records (like the Velvet Underground, the Blues Project and Richie Havens). Bob Dylan's manager Albert Grossman got them that deal. The then went on to play the Monterey Pop Festival the month following these shows, on the Friday of that historic weekend.
