Yellow Submarine (Apple Films, 1969), Hand-Painted and Signed Limited Edition Re-Release Animation Cel. Limited edition hand-painted animation cel from the singular animated film Yellow Submarine depicting Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and the whimsical crocodile that parades them through Pepperland in vibrant, wonderfully trippy colors. This limited-edition cel was produced in 1999 for the re-release of the film using the same techniques as production-made cels, and is numbered 106/275 and signed in black felt tip "Al Brodax" to lower left corner along with official Subafilms authenticity stamp stating, "Hand Painted Limited Edition Animation Art". Al Brodax was best known as the producer and co-writer of the film, as well as for his work in animation including the production of over 200 Popeyes shorts and the revival of the cartoon character, Krazy Kat. Cel measures 17" x 14" on a wonderful, airbrushed background of an open field and rolling hills. Exhibiting slight curling at corners where masking tape has separated the cel from its background due to age. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
