How Do I Love Thee? (ABC Pictures, 1970), Jackie Gleason "Stanley Waltz" Pair of Purple Wool Pants. Vintage original pair of light purple wool pants as worn by Stanley Waltz (Jackie Gleason) in the 1970 comedy-drama How Do I Love Thee? with featuring pleated front, cuffs, zipper and hook-and-eye closure, and retaining internal Western Costume Co. label typed, "Jackie Gleason" "2675-I" with additional internal Western Costume Co. stamp. The film was an adaptation of the 1965 novel, Let Me Count the Ways by Peter De Vries, and follows Tom (Rick Lenz) as he travels to France to visit his father, Waltz, and mother, Elsie (Maureen O'Hara), kicking off a series of misfortunes that follow the father and son. These pants were from the uniform Waltz wore for the furniture moving company he owns. Exhibiting production wear and age, particularly color toning throughout which has faded from an original rich blue to the current light purple, with a long strip of color loss down the left rear leg.
