Description
Group of Vintage 1940s Jackie Gleason-Related Lobby Cards. At the dawn of his career, Jackie Gleason was looking for a way to break into the motion picture industry. After accosting the director Lloyd Bacon at a nightclub in New York, the filmmaker agreed to bring Gleason to Hollywood and helped him sign with Warner Brothers, who offered him a modest contract. Presented here is a vintage original group of (16) 11" x 14" assorted lobby cards from films featuring the actor in his earliest on-screen appearances, consisting of (1) Navy Blue (Warner Bros., 1942), (3) Lady Gangster (Warner Bros., 1942), (5) Tramp, Tramp, Tramp (Columbia, 1942), (2) Escape from Crimes (Warner Bros., 1942), (1) Larceny, Inc. (Warner Bros., 1942), (1) Orchestra Wives (TCF, 1942), and (2) from The Desert Hawk (Universal, 1950).
