Description
I Dream of Jeannie (NBC TV, 1965-1970), Barbara Eden "Evil Jeannie" Signature Costume Ensemble. Vintage original (4) piece signature costume worn when Evil Jeannie (Barbara Eden), also known as "Jeannie II", the brunette alter-ego twin of Barbara Eden's iconic Jeannie character, appeared on the hit fantasy sitcom I Dream of Jeannie, consisting of (1) Kelly-green velour bolero-style short-sleeved vest with gold-colored metallic brocade, internal tether snaps, and retaining internal Columbia Pictures bias label handwritten, "Barbara Eden", (1) ruched green chiffon top constructed upon a bespoke nude underwire brassiere reinforced with integral wire stays, lining and padding, and back straps with hook-and-eye closure, featuring gilded leather tassels, matching gold-colored brocade, and retaining internal Columbia Pictures bias label handwritten, "Barbara Eden", (1) matching green chiffon and velvet paneled skirt with hook-and-eye and zipper back closure, nude silk upper lining and reinforced waist, retaining internal Screen Gems bias label handwritten, "B. Eden #1", and (1) matching green velour soft-padded headdress with chiffon veil, gilded leather tassels, and metallic gold-colored trim, retaining internal Columbia Pictures bias label handwritten, "Barbara Eden". Items exhibit expected production wear and age including several loose tassels and minor soiling throughout. Eden was known to have played her alter-ego so well that viewers often had no idea she was playing both roles. This ensemble is accompanied by a contemporary ponytail wig with synthetic material to affix to headdress and a ponytail wrapped around metal armature and tied with gold-colored elastic band for display purposes.
