Pan's Labyrinth: The Labyrinth of the Faun (Katherine Tegen Books, 2019), Original Fairy Concept Artwork by Allen Williams. Original unpublished concept artwork by Allen Williams, executed in pen, ink, oil, crayon, and watercolor on MDF board measuring approximately 16" x 12.5". The piece features three fairies resting on a gnarled branch, bordered in black, and was created for Pan's Labyrinth: The Labyrinth of the Faun, the illustrated novel by Guillermo del Toro and Cornelia Funke with original artwork by Williams. The imagery draws directly from del Toro's epic fantasy vision, with a flying grasshopper seemingly pondering its transformation into one of the film's signature fairies. The composition also evokes the living pages of the magical book given to Ofelia (Ivana Baquero) by the Faun (Doug Jones), as she embarks on the three mystical tasks that define the dark fairy tale. On the verso, the artist has affixed their business card and left the original UPC sticker intact. Board exhibits minor surface bumps on the back. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
