Description

Captain Action The Phantom (Complete) & Aquaman (Incomplete) Accessory Sets with 2 Figures (Ideal, 1966). Ideal's Captain Action line of the mid-1960s remains a high point of superhero collecting, allowing kids to transform their 12-inch action figures into licensed comic and pulp heroes with removable costumes and gear. This lot features two such legends: the jungle vigilante The Phantom and DC's King of Atlantis, Aquaman. Each includes a Captain Action base figure, along with outfits and accessories that highlight the ingenuity of Ideal's interchangeable hero system. Condition presents in used/played-with state. The Phantom comes with a complete outfit and accessory set, including his signature purple suit, striped trunks, and weapons. Aquaman is incomplete, missing the knife, trident, Swordfish Rapier, and flippers, though present are elements including his orange, scaled shirt, green tights, alternate head, and shell accessory. Both figures show moderate paint rub to masks and moderate soiling to outfits. See images for further condition details. Items are sold as is. For fans of Ideal's 1960s innovations, this lot is a striking pairing-The Phantom, often hailed as the very first costumed comic strip superhero, alongside Aquaman, the Golden Age defender of the seas. From comic strip panels to Saturday morning cartoons, these Captain Action costumes brought icons to life in a way few lines ever have. Whether you are completing your vintage setup or celebrating the origins of superhero role-play toys, these figures remain true treasures of 1960s character licensing.
