Captain Action Loose with Incomplete Batman Uniform Sets (Ideal Toy Corp., 1966). Offered here is an original Captain Action figure by Ideal, dated 1966, accompanied by components from two incomplete Captain Action Batman Uniform sets. These licensed accessory packs were produced as part of Ideal's interchangeable superhero series and allowed kids to transform their Captain Action figure into DC's Caped Crusader.
The lot includes two Batman cowls, two tunics with bat emblems, two capes, two utility belts, two pairs of boots, two faces (both with painted-on masks), and a mix of accessories - most in played with but good condition. One uniform set remains partially affixed to a severely damaged original insert tray, though most of the accessories have fallen off. Missing across both sets, though, are both the laser torches, one flashlight, one grappling hook, and one Batarang. A compelling assembly from the dawn of DC's mass-market toy licensing, this early Batman ensemble captures the imaginative format and modular play pattern that defined Ideal's Captain Action line. A rarely encountered configuration with crossover appeal for collectors of Silver Age DC, vintage action figures, and pre-Mego superhero toys.
