DC Batman Buttons & Club Memorabilia Group of 43 (Various Manufacturers, 1966). An outstanding and comprehensive collection from the height of 1966 Batmania, this 43-piece grouping captures the full scope of the Caped Crusader's pop-culture explosion through pinbacks, fan-club issues, and retail novelties. Included are four uncut "Charter Member Batman & Robin Society" button fronts; a complete trio from Ron Riley's Batman Club on Chicago's WLS/WBKB-TV (membership card, large sticker, and button); and the large We Want You to Be a Deputy Crime Fighter button from Button World, still sealed in its original 39¢ retail bag. The collection's centerpiece is the TZIP "Hey Kids Batman and Robin Buttons" boxed set, containing 25 individually cased litho buttons showcasing Batman, Robin, and their rogues gallery. Also included are five loose small buttons-"I'm a Crimefighter," "I'm a Batman Crimefighter," "Batman," "Robin," and the yellow Batman logo-along with eight additional pop-art pinbacks housed in a display case featuring slogans like "POW!," "WOW!," and "Stop Them, Robin!" Most pieces remain in excellent condition, with bright colors, clean surfaces, and strong gloss throughout-a remarkable preservation level for fragile litho and club-issued materials nearly six decades old. Collectively, this is a vivid, museum-worthy snapshot of the 1966 Batman phenomenon, when Gotham's greatest heroes leapt from comic pages to every kid's lapel in a blaze of sound effects and superhero spirit.
