Description

DC Batman Vintage Décor & Placemats Lot of 8 (various, 1966-79). This eclectic eight-piece assemblage of vintage Batman ephemera showcases how the Caped Crusader and Boy Wonder leapt from comic panels to everyday American homes in the 1960s and '70s. The lot includes a pair of mid-1960s framed art prints by Dayco/Pilgrim depicting Batman and Robin in matching hero-on-the-run poses, complemented by two charming hand-stitched embroideries of the Dynamic Duo in simple black frames. From the kitchen table to Saturday morning cartoons, Batman fandom knew no bounds - evidenced by the inclusion of two vinyl placemats featuring bright Golden Age-inspired artwork, both marked with 1966 copyrights. The seventh item is a 1979 felt Batman cutout with stitched-in rod sleeve for wall display - a clean and vibrant example of the post-Super Friends merchandising wave. Rounding out the set is a 1977 "Joint-Action Batman" articulated wall hanger from Our Way Studios, still sealed in its original packaging and complete with hanger card.

Condition varies across the lot. The framed Dayco prints exhibit light soiling/staining, and the embroideries are in used condition with mild wear. The children's placemats show moderate to heavy surface soiling and age-related deterioration. Finally, the felt Batman is like new while the Joint-Action Batman is sealed and unused, with moderate edge/corner wear and creasing to the hanger card. See images for further condition details. Items are sold as is. Holy living room nostalgia, Batman! This lot is a Gotham goldmine for collectors of Caped Crusader caches. From the lunchroom to the bedroom, these items capture how Batman's pop-culture dominance infiltrated American décor before Kenner or Mego took the wheel.
