Description

The Flintstones Battery Operated Fred Flintstone on Dino with Original Box (Marx, 1962). Marx brought Bedrock to life in the early 1960s with a line of battery-operated toys that captured the humor and visual style of The Flintstones, television's first primetime animated sitcom. Fred riding atop Dino remains one of the standout pieces from the range, blending tin lithography, fabric costuming, and simple mechanical action into a characterful display of Stone Age slapstick. As one of the earliest licensed Flintstones toys, it represents both the show's explosive cultural impact and Marx's talent for translating cartoon energy into playful motion. The box exhibits heavy overall wear. The edges show significant scuffing, and the corners display heavy scuffing and crushing. Box-face surfaces show heavy scuffing, creasing, crushing, writing, tears, and tape remnants consistent with long-term handling. The toy shows age-related wear to the fabric elements, and Fred's lithographed surfaces exhibit scuffing. The piece is untested, and no guarantee can be made regarding its working condition. For collectors of early television toys, Hanna-Barbera memorabilia, or Marx battery-operated figures, this Fred-and-Dino pairing remains a charming and highly displayable example from a formative era of character licensing. Even well-loved boxes and worn costumes can't diminish the appeal of one of Bedrock's most recognizable duos brought to life in classic Marx tin.
