1989 Lowden L32CP Natural Acoustic Guitar, Serial #1280.. ...
Description
1989 Lowden L32CP Natural Acoustic Guitar, Serial #1280.1989 Lowden L32CP Acoustic Guitar in Natural finish, Serial #1280. This is a fine example of Lowden's L32CP cutaway jumbo model, built during the period following the company's restart of production in Northern Ireland. It features a spruce top with Indian rosewood back and sides, maple binding with 5-ply wood purfling, and a finely applied satin finish that shows signs of normal playwear. The bridge will need to be reglued, and there is a small crack at the soundhole. The original pickup system is currently non-functional, and the guitar would benefit from fret work.
Original hard case included. Condition: Good.
The L32CP model showcases George Lowden's signature approach to guitar design-combining distinctive voicing, understated elegance, and premium materials. With its deep body, cutaway design, and rosewood/spruce tonewood pairing, this guitar delivers the projection, sustain, and dynamic range that have made Lowden a favorite among fingerstyle players and acoustic soloists. The maple binding and multi-ply purfling add refined visual detail to its modern aesthetic. Though in need of some repair and setup work, this early Northern Ireland-era Lowden remains a desirable instrument for restoration, offering significant potential both as a player's guitar and as a collectible example of Lowden's second-generation craftsmanship.
