This dinner at Romanoff's became one of the most sensational publicity episodes of the decade, Mansfield's calculated décolletage upstaging Loren and producing one of the most reproduced celebrity photographs of the 20th century - an enduring emblem of Hollywood's golden age of scandal and spectacle.

I'm staring at her nipples because I am afraid they are about to come onto my plate. In my face you can see the fear.
