Description
Alexis Korner's Blues Incorporated Signed R&B from the Marquee UK Mono LP (Decca ACL 1130, 1962). Vintage UK mono 12" album by the influential Rhythm & Blues band fronted by Alexis Korner, the "godfather" of the Rolling Stones. Signed to verso in black ink by Alexis Korner, in ballpoint by Graham Bond (saxophone), Johnny Parker (piano), and Ronnie Jones (vocals), and Ginger Baker as "Baker" (drums). The sleeve annotated with the signers' roles. Black vinyl with "Ace of Clubs" labels in white inner sleeve. The importance of Blues Incorporated on Rhythm & Blues and Rock n' Roll in the 1960s cannot be understated, not least due to the association with Mick Jagger, Brian Jones, Keith Richards, and Charlie Watts at the very beginning of their careers. During the band's 5-year history, members included Charlie Watts, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker (later of Cream), Art Wood (brother of Ronnie Wood), Graham Bond, Cyril Davies, and "Long" John Baldry among others. Given the fluid nature of Blues Incorporated's lineup, some of those signing the sleeve would be different from the members who featured in the recording. In addition to influencing the Stones, Korner's R&B nights were frequented by other future legends including Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, and Rod Stewart. Exhibits discoloration and handling wear to the sleeve, inner sleeve with light tears and soiling, vinyl with light scratches. Comes with a full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services and pre-certified by PSA/DNA.Heritage Auctions provides as much information as possible but strongly encourages in-person inspection.
