Description
KISS Creatures of the Night Original Album Production Art (Casablanca, 1982). Original album production art from the theatrical hard rock titans' critically-acclaimed 1982 LP, the last to show the band (at this time with the late Eric Carr on drums) donning their legendary makeup until 1998's Psycho Circus. The art is a striking semi-gloss, double-weight blue-tone photograph enlargement mounted on illustration board with overlayed production elements and clear protective sleeve. Though late rock guitar icon Ace Frehley is shown on the LP cover, his playing isn't featured anywhere on the album. Guitar duties for Creatures of the Night were handled by a group of talented session players, including Vinnie Vincent (who would be named as Ace's official replacement following the release of the album), Robben Ford, and Steve Farris. Additionally, this is the first United States-released album to feature drummer Carr on the cover in all his glory as the Fox. Cover image measures 19" x 19", overall 23" x 27". Exhibits some wear to the protective cover and backing due to age and handling, though the image is crisp. Provenance: Previously offered through Butterfields' KISS auction in June, 2000. The album cover image is for reference only and is not included with this lot. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.Heritage Auctions provides as much information as possible but strongly encourages in-person inspection.
