Original final key art for the movie poster that perfectly captures the spirit of the film, with the "devilish" Nicholson sporting black sunglasses and a wide grin while bolts of lightning strike upwards from his hand and towards the stormy sky above where the disembodied heads of our three lead women look out at the viewer. Accomplished with airbrush, mixed media, and embellished photostat elements on 27" x 41.5" artist's board and retaining handwritten maker's notation on the bottom reading "BD FOX #32653 5-1-87 BD53/PC1 9:15". Mounted to a foam board measuring 29.5" x 43.25". With an all-star cast of Jack Nicholson, Cher, Susan Sarandon, and Michelle Pfeiffer under the master direction of George Miller, 1987's adaptation of the John Updike novel The Witches of Eastwick is a seductive, playful, dark fantasy romp through suburban America. Exhibits handling wear and age, including the central painted area showing some minor spots of chipping to the airbrush and an area of color loss on the top left corner from bumping, with corners lifting from the foamboard. Foamboard includes soiling and chipping/surface loss on the bottom edge not affecting artwork. The poster image is for reference only and is not included with this lot.
