Description
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (TCF, 1977), Pair of Y-wing Production Blueprints by ILM. Vintage original pair of blueprint schematics by Industrial Light & Magic depicting exterior portions of the Y-wing starfighter from Star Wars: Episode IV, illustrating the remote-controlled turret system from overhead and from the side. Both blueprints printed on 18" x 12" unframed paper with 1-printed with "Johnston" on the bottom right. The printed name indicates the original schematic was executed by Joe Johnston, the concept artist and effects technician whose work at ILM was instrumental in the creative design of this seminal spacecraft. The Y-wing is one of the central and most recognizable fighter crafts seen in the Star Wars franchise, having made its first appearance in the original installment of the first trilogy. Items exhibit signs of wear and age, including toning and stains, edgewear and corner bumps, water stains, and creases. 1-with 1.5" tear not affecting print area and 1-with ink stain running the bottom length also not affecting print area. Provenance: From the personal collection of a 25-year veteran of the ILM model workshop.
