The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour (CBS TV, 1971-1974), Sonny Bono Costume Ensemble. Vintage original (3) piece costume ensemble consisting of (1) maroon suede leather long-sleeved slim-fit shirt studded with rhinestones in a western yoke pattern, black faceted buttons for button down closure, and tan elastic inseam gusset, retaining original "Sonny Bono / RT" Cotroneo Costume label, (1) pair of matching suede leather pants studded with rhinestones along the pockets and side seams, retaining original "M.W.SU.1 / Sonny Bono / RT / 30-32" Cotroneo Costume label, and (1) maroon faux leather belt with rhinestone buckle, retaining handwritten "M.W.SU.1" bias label in black marker. The show capitalized on the highly publicized marriage of Sonny and Cher, cementing their image as a charming and talented power duo. Sonny wore this costume ensemble during a rendition of "I Can See Clearly Now". Items exhibit production age and wear, with a small hole to inner collar, small tear to one edge of the belt, missing rhinestones on belt, and black staining on shirt and pants.
