Group of Bob Hope USO Tour and Christmas Show Memorabilia, Episode Drafts, and Miscellaneous Ephemera (ca. 1965-1975). Vintage original black leather binder containing (8) items relating to Bob Hope including (1) group of itinerary documents for the Bob Hope Christmas Special tour in Saigon from 1965, detailing personal security rules and the closest churches and restaurants, with a letter addressed to members of the Christmas show typed and signed by General William Westmoreland, (1) USO tour access badge from one of the Bob Hope Christmas Show events, with department of defense seal, (1) 20-page script for The Bob Hope Show (NBC-TV, 1950-1996) dated January 17th, 1958 and featuring multiple sketches on yellow pages with one titled "SPY SKETCH", (1) 3-page script for The Bob Hope Show dated April 17th, 1975 featuring Aretha Franklin for a sketch titled "ARETHA/BOB STAND-UP" on yellow pages including some handwritten annotations in blue ink, (1) 6-page undated script on white pages detailing different comedy sketches for The Bob Hope Show, (1) headshot of Hope from the Los Angeles Country Club, (1) caricature of Hope on a 2.75" x 2" card titled "Happy Christmas Show", and (1) brass U.S. Army Officer's service cap insignia badge. Bob Hope was an American comedian, actor, producer, and radio personality, known for his Road To franchise of musical comedy films. To boost morale during the dangerous and tumultuous era of the Vietnam War, Hope sought to spread laughter and cheer on the front lines, partnering with the United Service Organization to perform Christmas shows for soldiers from 1964 to 1972. Items exhibit expected wear and age, with script pages presenting well overall.
