His Girl Friday (Columbia, 1940), Revised Final Draft Screenplay. Vintage original Revised Final Draft screenplay for Howard Hawks' newsroom screwball comedy, His Girl Friday, 192-page (as paginated) on typed carbon tissue vellum with yellow revision pages dated between September 7, 1939 and September 26, 1939. Bound and bradded in studio wraps labeled on the front with the title "Columbia No. 49", "Revised Final September 26 1930" and retaining Stenographic Dept. studio stamp. Production on the picture began one day after printing of this draft, on September 27, 1939. Script exhibits wear from age and handling, including water damage and damp staining to the front cover with partial separation from wear at the brads. Front wrap as well with hand-drawn scribbles and doodles made in pencil, with interior thin papers largely unblemished apart from bumped corners and occasional creases. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
