Greta Garbo Signed First Federal Savings and Loan Card (1944). Vintage original First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Beverly Hills membership card, typewritten "MISS GRETA GARBO" and dated "JUNE 20, 1944", signed by Garbo prominently in blue ink. Also contains a bank employee's stamp applied later reading, "ACCOUNT CLOSED / DEC. 21 1953". Measures 6" x 4". Greta Garbo is often considered one of the greatest actresses of all time, whose work spanned the silent and early Golden eras of Hollywood. Her starring role in A Woman of Affairs (MGM, 1928) made her MGM's biggest box-office success, catapulting her into a new echelon of fame. Though her star would later fall after being labeled "Box Office Poison" by the Hollywood Reporter (in the good company of Katharine Hepburn, Joan Crawford, and Marlene Dietrich), Garbo remains one of the most beloved actresses of the era.
