A WILD, RARE PSYCHEDELIC GEM FROM JIM MORRISON & CO.

The Doors, Love, Canned Heat 1967 Pasadena, CA Hometown Concert Poster. An original pink & orange silk-screened psychedelic concert poster for the Doors, Love with Arthur Lee, Canned Heat and the West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band performing Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Los Angeles, California on Friday night, June 2, 1967.

Poster artist Gary Weisser (credited bottom center) created a marvelous independent psychedelic concert poster for this occasion, resplendent with pink, orange and white coloring and terrific rolling letters everywhere. The Doors ended up canceling out and were replaced by the Fifth Dimension on this occasion. You have to love "Plasmadena J.C." across the top, a hip spin on "Pasadena Junior College." The school later morphed into Pasadena City College, where early underground radio station KPCC-FM was based.

Very few specimens of this poster have ever been seen. This first-ever Heritage offering measures 16 1/8" x 21 1/4" and grades to restored Near Mint Minus condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: A paper conservator addressed a few edge and corner issues, touching up any printing or color where necessary, mending tears or pinholes, eradicating surface blemishes and greatly reducing any creasing the poster might have had. The result is a completely satisfying piece with little or no evidence of past damage.
