Description

Star Wars Glasslite Hoth Snowtrooper AFA 75+ Loose (Glasslite, 1988). Known in Brazil as the Guerreiro Imperial - Soldado de Elite do Império, this Glasslite-produced Snowtrooper was part of the company's 1988 O Poder da Força ("The Power of the Force") line-the final wave of vintage-era Star Wars figures released anywhere in the world. Produced under license using Kenner's molds but finished with Glasslite's own materials and paint masks, the figure presents several hallmark traits that distinguish it from its U.S. counterpart. These include a harder plastic body, separate visor holes in the helmet (rather than Kenner's unified "univisor"), thicker black shoulder detailing, heavier belt spray mask, and the absence of a vinyl skirt. Most examples also show the raised "China" COO scar and occasional factory melt marks, testifying to the quirks of late-stage Glasslite production. Graded AFA 75+ EX+/NM, this example is encased in a clear acrylic display with its light blue Imperial rifle mounted separately to the left, a color distinct to Glasslite. As the Empire's chill reached the Southern Hemisphere, Glasslite's Snowtrooper stood as the final sentinel of the vintage line-an enduring artifact of international production and creative adaptation. It remains a key figure for collectors who value nuance, factory variation, and the global story of Star Wars toy history.
