Independence Day (TCF, 1996), Alien Mothership Observation Seat Filming Miniature. Original filming miniature hanging alien mothership observation seat. The model measures approx. 20" x 7" x 5.5" and is constructed of cast resin, vacuum-formed plastic components and other multimedia. Assembled and expertly painted to appear otherworldly with green and blue panels and details representing biomechanical technology. Previously wired for electronics. A 3.75" x 2" metal plate is affixed to the top of the seat to allow it to be hung from a roofed set or model. Featured towards the climax of the film as Captain Steven Hiller (Will Smith) and satellite engineer David Levinson (Jeff Goldblum) stow away aboard the invading alien mothership to upload a virus and eliminate its shield defenses. Exhibits production and display wear. Electronics have not been tested. Obtained from Twentieth Century Fox. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
