Cecil B. DeMille Original Pair of Birthday Card Artworks from the Production of The Ten Commandments (Paramount, 1956). Vintage pair of birthday card artworks for Cecil B. DeMille a year before the release of The Ten Commandments including (1) "Best Wishes for a Happy Birthday" sketch rendered in ink on art paper and presented in a wood frame measuring 30.25" x 17.5" and (1) "Happy Birthday Poem" sketch rendered in ink on art paper and presented on a white mat in metal frame measuring 13.5" x 17.5". These unique sketches were created expressly for DeMille on his birthday during production of The Ten Commandments. The larger sketch text in its entirety reads: "Best Wishes for a Happy Birthday to Cecil B. DeMille from the Staff and Crew of "The Ten Commandments" August 12, 1955." It is signed by dozens of key collaborators including Charlton Heston, Henry Wilcoxon, and artist Arnold Friberg. The smaller sketch is from Fraser Clarke Heston (Charlton's son who played baby Moses), who was exactly six months old on DeMille's birthday on August 12. 1955. The sketch features baby Moses at the top, with his footprint at the bottom. Artworks exhibit storage wear. Larger artwork exhibits staining and aging on frame backing.
