Description

Samson and Delilah (Paramount, 1949), Ken Reid Group of (3) Concept Artworks. Vintage group of (3) artworks by Ken Reid [1919-1996] rendered in mixed media on art board including (1) "Samson Prays" concept painting (with 1.5" white border) containing artist signature and with "C15. Samson Prays" in graphite on lower right measuring 16.75" x 13.5", (1) "Jester Mimics Samson" concept painting (with 1.5" white border) containing artist signature and with "C7 - C12. Jester Mimics Samson" in graphite on lower right measuring 16.75" x 13.5", and (1) "Samson Led to Dagon" concept painting measuring 17.75" x 13.25". Reid created a number of dynamic concept paintings (uncredited) for the epic biblical drama. Artworks exhibit production wear, toning, staining, vestiges of old adhesive, and edge wear. "Samson Led to Dagon" contains exhibit tearing on back, and faint craquelure under raking light. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
