Vintage research documents used as reference for crafting period-accurate screenplays including (1) 140 page document of research notes for Union Pacific compiled by Frank Calvin and (1) 79 page document of research statistics on Unconquered. These very rare production documents reveal the massive research involved in the crafting of a Cecil B. DeMille epic. The Union Pacific research notes, dated 1938, include a wide range of historical facts on clothing, vernacular, food, machinery and other facets of life in the 1860s (the year the film takes place). The Unconquered research statistics are indexed references on where to find essential information featuring specific books, pamphlets, and photographs available for research. These fascinating research materials offer a unique insight into the crafting of a script for a DeMille epic. Documents exhibit production wear, toning, creasing, tearing, loose staples/pages.
